Aquarius originally opened This Is Some Rescue in early 2004 as a platform for showcasing her own fanfic. At the time Han/Leia zines were hard to come by and many Han/Leia websites were folding or going on hiatus, so opening a new website seemd to make sense at the time. The fiction itself is a reaction to the professional fiction Aquarius found dissatisfying, and she offeres her stories as an alternative to the backstories and future adventures that were presented in the officially licensed novels.
The site has grown much since then. Aquarius adopted the Corellian Embassy from Carolyn Golledge and Martha Wilson in mid-2006 and has since added an art gallery and a separate erotica archive (which you shouldn't visit if you're under 18 or offended by stories involving a loving, committed couple).
Aquarius has been a fan of the original Star Wars trilogy since 1977 and began writing Han and Leia stories in 1980, before she was old enough to know it was called "fan fiction," or that other people did it. She and her three cats live in a suburb of Detroit.
